Home Care Agencies provide services in people's home or place of residence, such as the client’s home, an independent care facility, or assisted living facility.

The goal of home care is to allow the client and/or their spouse to stay safely in their place of residence and continue to be independent as possible. Home care clients can be seniors; individuals recovering from an accident or surgery; new moms; and people with chronic health issues or physical disabilities.Traditionally, both skilled and non-medical home care services were provided by home health care agencies. Home health services included skilled nursing care, occupational therapy, physical therapy, durable medical equipment, and other personal healthcare-related services. These services usually require a physician's order and are usually paid by Medicare or other medical insurance. Some agencies also provide non-medical home care.
